The hat cage is a useful addition to the laundry room if you’re cleaning hats and caps frequently. The only drawback is that the brim must be flat in order to fit into the cage! I personally don’t use these as I find hand cleaning to be quite easy, quick and effective but I can imagine that would get tiresome / cumbersome if you’re cleaning hats often.
