We find we are very often asked about the differnce between calling sloths - two-toed and three-toed VS Two-fingered and Three-fingered. Referring to their fingers makes much more sense anatomically. The Linnaeus’s Two Toed Sloth is native to the rainforests of northern South America. The Hoffman’s Two Toed Sloth looks like a teddy bear and can be found in the tropical forest tree canopies from Nicaragua to Peru and Central Brazil and northern South America, feeding on leaves, twigs, and fruits.

Our new Linnes two-toed sloth baby looks to be very keen to wean! Baby sloths are typically nursed for around six months, but despite our newest addition being just five-weeks-old, it is already extremely eager to try mum’s crunchy vegetables for itself! We’re still not sure of the baby’s sex, so it hasn’t got a name yet, but keepers report it is big and very confident already! | Dudley Zoo
